The Pneuma Chronicles

Walking the Walk…….and the heart of the Father!

There is always more!

“Aslan, said Lucy “you’re bigger”.

“That is because you are older, little one” answered he.

“Not because you are?”

“I am not. But every year you grow, you will find me bigger.”

-C.S. Lewis, Prince Caspian (Chronicles of Narnia, #2)

The quote is taken from the second in a set of seven spirit-inspired children’s classics written by C.S Lewis.

They centre around Aslan, the huge, mysterious Lion who created Narnia and other worlds.

I read them all as a child.

I read them all again, as an adult.

With very different eyes, and more understanding.

This particular quote, is quite profound in its sheer laser accuracy.

The Ancient of days, changes not.

He is completely INFINITE, yet completely the same. Try solving that mystery!

But our growth….the internal stature and health of the spirit man ultimately is directly proportional to our perceptions of Him, the way we see Him, his SIZE and capacity in our minds.

Ultimately, the way we relate with Him. It is also directly proportional to our faith.

And as far as wanting to know God is concerned, some set out cups.

Some, drums.

Some, tankers.

And some trash every container and just lay out connecting pipes directly to Him….because for them, containers are grossly inadequate.

The more we grow, the bigger He appears to us, and the smaller we realize we truly are.

And the more this expresses itself even outwardly.

It is often interesting to note that those whose sight have been greatly expanded by reason of their growth and stature in spirit, are often some of the meekest and humblest people you will know. To prove this, look in the Bible, look at the fathers of faith, then look at the Fathers of the church, too.

Moses.

Paul.

Humble folk.

BIG CAVEAT: the metrics are not about gifts, church size or influence. True stature may on occasion intersect with these, but they are definitely not mutually exclusive to them.

Remember Venn diagrams? Sets, subsets, and intersections?

Exactly.

There be many unknown men, humble folk, even uneducated, who are towering giants.

Do not let papparazzi, gifts, oratory, and what we judge as “influence” to confuse your sight.

A man or woman may take just a sip out of his small container, and be shouting upandan, brandishing titles, shouting revv, even claiming spiritual children upandan. Boya ke be calming down.

The one who is truly digging, and drinking, and growing, determined to grow, the more he sees, knows and interacts with God, and grows, the more of the size of the Almighty he sees.

And the more often he will find himself muttering in AWE….. Lord, just help me. Oluwa, help me.

It is an awe that is sincerely humbling, and not pangolo noise.

In summary, we must keep growing in Him. However big His size in our minds and hearts, that size is still too small.

There is ALWAYS MORE OF GOD.

ALWAYS.

May God help us all!

Lord, please.

I leave you with Ephesians 3:14- 21.
